Wichita City and School District Candidate Websites and News Coverage
Following are candidates for offices in Wichita and links to their websites. If I am missing any, please contact me through this page. I have included links only to campaign websites for the candidate, and not to news stories or other non-campaign websites the candidate may have.
The Wichita Eagle has a tool you can use by clicking on Wichita Eagle voter guide. This is surprisingly difficult to find on the Eagle’s site, given its usefulness.
The general election is Tuesday April 7. The registration deadlines is March 23.
These elections are non-partisan, meaning that candidates are not identified by party on the ballot.
Candidates have already filed receipts and expenditure reports covering through February 19, and also the report due on March 30, 2009, covering February 20 through March 26. The final report for this election cycle is due January 10, 2010 and covers from March 27 through December 31. These reports may be viewed online at the Sedgwick County Election office website, although the system used to retrieve and view the reports is difficult to use.

I’ve gathered a list of candidate websites for State Representative. It’s here:
http://seantevis.com/kansas-representatives.php
Feel free to use it as a reference to add to your own list. Nice site, by the way. I love what you’re doing.
Thank you. I’ve added the link in a prominent position.
What about third party candidates? I do not see the Libertarians! :)
I’m sorry I forgot the Libertarians! Where are my manners, not to mention my good sense?
How can you want this bond to go threw when the state is broke and people are getting laid off.the bond issue for the schools should be void.since the state cant give their part.thats how you all asked for the bond you were saying, the state would give money
Did the challengers for the school board not have any comments on the selection for the school board? Did the voice any concerns or were they in support? If they didn’t have any comments why would anyone want to vote for them when they have no comments or opinions on such an important matter?
I meant to write did the challengers have any comment on the selection of the USD 259 Superintendent?
If they didn’t why should anyone vote for them? That was the prime time to see what they bring to the table.
I’m sick and tired of candidates I can’t find any information on. How am I supposed to vote for these people?
Diana you raise a very good point, as I have looked tirelessly for information, as I greatly desire to make the best possible decision as a registered voter-Our students in the district deserve to know that we have their best interest at hand, Our students are studying about democracy, at a time we should be insisting that the process of public debate among the candidates manifest an unveiling. Push come to shove our local media should nudge us citizens by providing the information by all means necessary. Rueben your comment makes sense as well-Thanks to both of you for caring enough to share your thoughts and opinions.
