The problem is also with labeling we insist on calling the school system a public school system, when a more realistic label would be government schools. What control does the public have when it comes to standards and curriculum, I would state almost zero. The liberals have taken over the curriculum at a national level to dumb down the students about the formation of our great nation and the liberty they are having stolen from them! They placate the teachers into teaching such tripe by forcing them into unions and always offering them secure positions with good overall pay.

It’s no wonder these misperceptions exist when the public is only ever shown the Base State Aid Per-pupil (BSAPP) amount. This year’s education debate has really opened my eyes. I’ve learned a great deal as a result of reading Dave Trabert’s material. His writing is clear and most importantly, backed up by the numbers. It is staggering how much we’re spending on schooling the youth of Kansas. Even private schools are a bargain compared to the public school deception.
